Security is a big concern amoung web site visitors, especially when dealing with a commercial web site. Computer House, provides you with a secure directory on our secure server (appropriately named, www.security-one.com and www2.security-one.com). If you have not already done so, and are wanting your secure directory, please go to https://www.aitcom.net/activatesecure.htm with your account name and request to activate your secure directory. You will be e-mailed all necessary information for logging into and interfacing with your secure directory. The secure directory allows you to offer secure information or secure online order forms over the SSL (secure socket layer) protecting and encrypting all data transferred between the visitor and the server.
Here are a few things to remember about your free secure directroy.
- FrontPage extensions are not installed on the secure server, so you will not be able to use FrontPage 98 or 2000 to publish nor use FrontPage forms.
- You can only use fmail.pl and FormMail.pl on Computer House's secure servers. You can not use your own custom scripts.
- You only have approx. 3 MB of space to use on the secure server. Since only images and HTML pages should be on the secure server, this should never be a problem.
- You can activate PGP encryption from forms that are generated on Computer House's secure servers. To request PGP be added to a secure directory email address, proceed to https://www.aitcom.net/pgpsubmit.htm
- There is only one FTP account allowed. If you are a reseller, then you as the reseller can have a secure directory, however any Virtual Host that may need SSL will need to have their form placed in your secure directory.
