MCart is Computer House's fully functional
WebStore. MCart (formerly known as Ushop or Ultrashop) has been distributed to your virtual server, and you have access to install MCart via your Virtual Server Management Tool
(VSMT, or Control Panel). There are two scenarios that you will need to be aware of. One that would install MCart for the first time on your Virtual Server, and the other that would upgrade a current Ushop program to the new MCart
WebStore. Both are detailed below.
To install MCart for the first time, do the following:
Log into the Control Panel.
Select the "Install Shopping Cart" option from the "Install New Services" drop down menu.
Click on the "GO" button.
In the form that is displayed, input information that would look like this:
Directory to install shop in: /www/htdocs/mcart
URL for this directory: http://domain.com/mcart
Username for shop administrator: shopkeeper
Password for shop administrator: ********
This will install the most current version of MCart on your server. This will install MCart in the
/www/htdocs/mcart directory. To install MCart for a virtual host, just indicate the full directory path to the virtual host(which would normally would be
/www/htdocs/vhdir/mcart).
To upgrade Ushop to the new MCart WebStore, do the following:
Llog into the Control Panel.
Click on the link that states "Install Shopping Cart." This will install the most current version of MCart on your server.
In the form that is displayed, input information that would look like this:
Directory to install shop in: /www/htdocs/<CURRENT DIRECTORY OF SHOP>
URL for this directory: http://domain.com/<CURRENT DIRECTORY OF SHOP>
Username for shop administrator: shopkeeper
Password for shop administrator: ********
Reinstalling MCart over top of an existing Ushop will NOT overwrite your data and inventory. Reinstallation will only overwrite your configuration files is the only thing that will happen when you reinstall MCart from an existing
Ushop.
