How do I configure email aliasing from the Control Panel?

Answer

This option has two purposes:
A.) To let you set up e-mail aliases (multiple e-mail addresses to one POP account)
B.) To let you set up e-mail addresses to forward to a certain email address away from your Computer House account (i.e. @hotmail.com or @aol.com).

  1. From the control panel, find the "Manage Email Services" option.
  2. Next, select the "Configure Aliases" option and click on the "GO" button.
  3. You will be prompted with a number of form fields to enter information into, as well as buttons to view and/or remove aliases from the alias file. Information about the form fields are as follows:

    • Enter alias name: This is where you enter the name of the e-mail address you want aliased or forwarded. (ie. sales, info, support, webmaster, whatever username you choose to alias). You will only need to enter the username protion of the email address, and not the full email address. This would be everything to the left of the @ sign.

    • Enter email address: This is where you set the name above to be aliased to (the name of the POP account you want it sent to or forwarded to, the e-mail address can be whatever POP account (ie. pop@yourdomain.com) or forwarded to your current ISP POP account (ie. pop@yourisp.com), etc.)

  4. Clicking the Add the Alias button will do just that, add the alias/forward you wanted to setup.
  5. Clicking the View the Alias File button will view all the aliases and forwards setup on your server.
  6. Clicking the Remove the Alias button after having entered an aliased name in the "ENTER NAME" field will remove that alias from the alias file.
